TVNZ launch NZ's first off-deck branded mobile community

TG has launched New Zealand's very first 'off-deck' branded mobile community for Television New Zealand (TVNZ), the country's largest television broadcaster. This highly promoted mobile service provides a 'mobile news' and community portal for TVNZ's mobile audience.  The community orientated elements of the service include chat rooms that are provided around the youth demographic television show 'Shortland Street'. The ongoing TVNZ mobile strategy is to incorporate social networking features around youth properties and TV shows to get users active and engaged with the TVNZ brand. Sub communities will be eventually created for various TVNZ programs and properties. The portal is managed by TVNZ with the TG content management system (CMS) allowing for the ongoing 24/7 publishing of the latest news, sport and weather information.
