Yahoo! shuts down Chat rooms
More evidence appeared this week of the need to provide user safety management processes to Chat services when Yahoo was forced to shut down it’s unmanaged Chat services. The Yahoo services, which were not moderated, also allowed users to create their own rooms. A number of these rooms were the locus of inappropriate, possibly illegal, activity. This also follows the disclosure that MSN had also suffered similar User Safety issues in 2003.
