Back from the UK!
Managing Director, Roger Grice just returned back from a tour of the UK as a guest of the UK Government’s, Trade Partners organisation. During his trip he presented to a number of investment groups and regional development authorities. “From my perspective NZ is obviously ahead of the UK in many aspects of deployment of wireless services, which confirms my belief that we are world leaders. We now have to be careful not to emulate some of the UK trends, particularly their openness to mobile spam. We are already a commercial and regulatory step ahead on this issue in the control of SMS Spam and subscription services. We’re also well ahead in our technology and processes for developing Safe and Moderated Mobile Community Services.”
A highlight was the presentation at Morgan Stanley’s mobile industry seminar. “We seem to be an oddity to them; a tech company running profitably from revenue, without the need for outside investors! The investment sentiment in Europe is definitely bearish, a downstream result of the over-hype in the telco sector. The subject of the presentation was about earning real revenue from services, rightsizing the company to mange growth from revenue and generating value for the operators”.
